Unable to "Select a BEx Query": Request processing failed (XLS 000009) error.bicsOnly

Hi all,

I am using BO Dashboard Design 4.0 SP5. I want to select a BEx query via the Query Panel.

After pressing the "Add Query" button, I enter my credentials for our BI platform 4.0 SP5.

In the first step ("Select a data source"), I choose the Option "BEx Select a BEx query as a data source". I click the "Next" button.

In the second step ("Select a BEx query"), I select <server:port (username)>   ->   Connections   ->   <SAP_BW_B73>. I click the "Next" button.

A new dialog window shows up (window title: "Select a BEx query").

Immediately, another small dialog window pops up (window title "Dashboards") with the following Content:

Request processing failed. (XLS 000009)

Request processing failed. (XLS 000009) [[error.bicsOnly] 0]

Any ideas how to resolve this?

Problem solved: The underlying connection (in my case: SAP_BW_B73) was corrupt (details could not be viewed in Information Design Tool) although the connection test itself worked. After creating a new connection access to queries was possible.

are you sure you gave the correct note number? Note 179364 refers to a problem of some system for use in hospitals...

go and check the SAP Note search for "XLS 000009". You find some Notes and maybe one can help you.
