Question on Free characteristic

Hi,

In one of my report there is a free character 'A',  When i drag this into the report there is another character 'B' getting displayed with char 'A'.

B is a compounding attr of A. According to my knowledge comp attr  gets displayed as 'A/B' . But here A and B are getting displayed as separate entities (2 different columns). Can anyone tell me why is that so? How  can i remove this.

Among 2 compounding attributes (A and B)B is hidden in the query designer.

and the drill down char B is dragged separately in the BEx.

what product is this - BEx analyzer or WAD ?  a screenshot would be nice .

+ version, sp and patch info is helpful too.

BTW - this is the Business Objects BI analytics forum, not SAP Netweaver Business Warehouse (BW) .
