Hello Folks,

We have system where dual stack is installed

Now ABAP system is working fine but JAVA is down.

When i checked R3trans -d from SIDADM(javasidadm) user i am  RC=12.

Hello

It looks like a Logon group issue to me.

Check whether there is Logon group called PUBLIC defined in Tx SMLG.

Open Config tool and check whether the value for the parameter ume.r3.connection.master.group is PUBLIC.

Regarding the password change:

You need to update the password for the Java schema user under the secure store area in the config tool.

There are two password fields present:

One is for the admin user connecting to the ABAP stack mainly J2EE_ADMIN and the other is for the SAPSR3DB user.

Make sure you update the passwords in the right fields.

The issue is related to SMLG (PUBLIC groups).

I have created and now and JAVA stack is working fine.

Hi Manojar,

To make sure your java stack schema password is updated, you should change it directly at the database level, and update the new one in the configTool. You can use the steps bellow:

- on the database server as <sid>adm or ora<sid> (for UNIX/Linux):

sqlplus / as sysdba

alter user SAPSR3DB identified by <new_passwd>;

exit;

Then update the configTool with the newly updated password.

Hi Mano,

you cannot check the availability of a Java DB with R3trans. Try "startsap check" instead (executed as javasidadm).

Hi,

For SAP Java, you need to check the DB connection using Configtool. Go to /usr/sap/<SID>/<instance>/j2ee/configtool -> execute ./consoleconfig.sh and post the result.

If the issue is with the password credentials then update it in the Secure storage of configtool.

I am able to connect config tool and also updated password in secure storage.

for JAVA schema owner is SAPSR5DB.

Hi Mano,

SAPnote 943602 is mentioned in your error text, and this note leads to 940893. SAPnote 940893 says that in case of "The Java VM terminated with a non-zero exit code", you have to send the complete content of the working directory of the respective node to SAP support - for example,  \usr\sap\SID\inst<No>\j2ee\cluster\server0\log\system\server0.log.

Bad luck, I think.

Hi,

In Secure storage, you need to update the password of j2ee_admin user ( as its your Dual stack system ).

Can you update it j2ee_admin pwd -> stop SAP system -> cleanipc <nr> remove  -> start SAP system.

Hi,

Your return code 1113 states that your username and password is invalid.

Please perform the following actions and check whether it works.

1. Please login to your ABAP system and check whether the user J2ee_admin or SAPJSF is locked. if it is locked, please unlock it and try again.

2. Have you changed the password for your java schema SAPSR3DB, then you need to update the new password in your config tool.

You can verify whether the passowrd is the issue, please open the config tool and there you can see only the secstore option.. If yes, then it is 99% password wrong update in your config tool.. Update the new password and try to start the Ssytem ... It will work.

Please check and provide your feedback.

.. ok that's nice, but useless because R3trans still uses the ABAP schema owner SAPR3 (works as designed).

The Java connect mechanism works completely different. It uses a Secure Storage.
