Hi Murli,
For your Query regarding Migration of SAP BODS 3.2 to BODS 4.1 following steps need to be taken care:
Installation:
SAP Business Objects Data Services is available on BI/IPS Platform. Now you have to Installed either Business Intelligence (BI)/Information Platform Services (IPS)
Let i assume you have deploy SAP Business Objects Information Platform Services (IPS) 4.1:
- Installation of SAP Business Objects Information Platform Services (IPS) 4.1
- Installation of SAP Business Objects Data Services 4.1
Configuration:
Following Configuration is required for configuration of SAP Business Objects Data Services:
- Upgradation of Local/Central/Profile Repository in SAP Business Objects Data Services Management Console
- Configuration of Local/Central/Profile Repository in SAP Business Objects Information Platform Services
- Creation of Users, Rights & Security implementation in SAP Business Objects Information Platform Services
- Creation of Users & Groups in in SAP Business Objects Data Services Management Console
Let us assume you have "N" Local Repository: Currently i assume you have "N"number of Local Repository Created in SAP Business Objects Data Services 3.2 and all database is in SQL Server
Solution For Local Repository:
- First take the Backup of All Local Repository (Data Base backup or ATL Backup) of SAP BODS 3.2 Versions
- Upgrade all Local repository Using SQL Server 2008 as a database in Data Services Management Console 4.1.
- Then Check the Source/Target Connection in DataStore Using Configuration Tab.
- If you Have XML/Excel/Flat-files as a Source then Map it Once Again
- Validate the Jobs
- Create new Job Server and mapped the Repository Information exctaly same as BODS 3.2
- Login in Local repository and check the Job Server Status
- Configuration of Jobs for Scheduling in Data Services Management Console 4.1.
- Configuration of Server Group in Data Services Management Console 4.1.
- If you have Adapters then Configuration of Adapters in Data Services Management Console 4.1.
- If You have SAP BW as a Source/target then you need to Configure RFC then Configuration of RFC in Data Services Management Console 4.1.
- And Then Finally Execute the Job From Data Services management Console or Directly From Local Repository.
Let us assume you have "N" Central Repository: Currently i assume you have "N"number of Central Repository Created in SAP Business Objects Data Services 3.2 and all database is in SQL Server
Solution For Central Repository:
- First take the Backup of All Central Repository (Data Base backup or ATL Backup) of SAP BODS 3.2 Versions
- Upgrade all Central repository Using SQL Server 2008 as a database in Data Services Management Console 4.0
- Then go to Data Services Management Console and Check the Users & Group are there or not For "Version Management", If not then First Create Group then Users.
- Now Login all Local repository and add and activate Central repository again.
If You have Data Cleansing in BODS 3.2 then no need to create a seperate Repository for that in BODS 4.1 only Server Installation and pointing of "Cleansing package" is required.
Hope this will help you as well.
Thanks,
Daya
