... go to the following locations instead:

- http://scn.sap.com/community/sybase-ase: this community is specifically for SAP users who run SAP applications on ASE. For example, the topics you will find discussed here are questions about getting ASE backups to work with DBA cockpit, or how to install ASE in a SAP environment.

If you are not using SAP applications, please use the community below.

- http://scn.sap.com/community/sybase-adaptive-server-enterprise: this community is for ASE as a general-purpose database, without an SAP context. This is likely the place where most current newsgroup users should go to.

Posting the same message in both forums is rather confusing at first glance because of the title.  "Please do not use this forum for ASE discussions, but..."

perhaps a subject title of "Use this forum for SAP applications with Sybase ASE" in

http://scn.sap.com/community/sybase-ase/content

and

"Use this forum for Sybase ASE" in http://scn.sap.com/community/sybase-adaptive-server-enterprise/content

The naming of the forums are too similar IMO.  maybe a

http://scn.sap.com/community/sap-apps-with-ase/content ??

This message was only posted in the Developer Center forums. This location should really not be used for discussions but it is not possible to remove the forum from the Developer Center.

The two communities "SAP on Sybase ASE" and "SAP Sybase ASE for Custom Applications" are a little too similar for my liking too, but there's nothing we can do about that right now.
