TREX for e-Recruiting and Talent Management

We have an integrated scenario for e-Recruiting - integration between ERP HCM and e-Recruiting - for which we have a TREX server.  We have begun work on implementing Talent Management, and our consultants recommended that we have another TREX server for TM.  Is this the best practice?  Do we need to have 2 TREX servers?

Thanks in advance for your expertise.

Hi Deborah,

You don't need to have a separate TREX instance for TM. However, it really depends on how many objects are being handled by TREX in each application (E-Rec and TM). Larger organizations might see performance issues if the original TREX server has only been built for one application and was not built with scalability in mind.

I think you need to examine the load of both applications on one server, but in theory you don't need 2 separate servers. TREX is designed to run multiple applications (CRM, E-Rec, TM, MM etc)

Best regards,

Luke

Hi Luke,

Just extending this query in another fashion...

1) Is it advisable to have TREX and EREC in the same server/instance and let TREX to handle TM.

2) If TREX and EREC are in the same server; what are the expected problems ?

Look forward to your reply.

Regards,

ER.

Hi ER

Always put TREX on its own server and ensure that it's not a virtual server. If not, you'll find that the TREX service will not function properly or will shut down regularly.

Best regards,

Luke

It is recommended to have TREX on its own server.
