Dear all,
I have a big problem here, i installed the ECC 6.0 SR3 and was working. Then I upgraded the kernel to 7.20 and restarted the machine and the services and now it´s not working anymore.
The service SAPQAS_00 is not starting and is giving me this error, how do i solve it?
Activation context generation failed for "E:\usr\sap\QAS\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\sapcpe.EXE". Dependent Assembly Microsoft.VC80.CRT,processorArchitecture="amd64",publicKeyToken="1fc8b3b9a1e18e3b",type="win32",version="8.0.50727.4053" could not be found. Please use sxstrace.exe for detailed diagnosis.
On sap management console the complain comes from:
sapcpe.exe -- executable copy -- could not be started
I tried to bring back the previous kernel (the backup) and nothing, maybe I replaced it i don´t know, what is the walk around.
best regards,
nelson\
Hi Nelson,
Kernal upgrade is slightly changed in newer versions:
Kernel upgrade: 720 (Note: 1636252)
SAP Note: Note 1636252 - Installing a 7.20 kernel in SAP Web AS 7.00 7.01 7.10 7.11
:\usr\sap\SNB\DVEBMGS00\work>sapcpe pf=D:\usr\sap\SNB\SYS\profile\SID_DVEBMGS00
_sapserver
Start services and SAP. sure the SAP will start with out any problems.
Let me know if you face any issues.
Thanks

the logistic people need the machine to work so i had to put it up after that i´ll get back to this.

dear all,
this is not caused by the version of OS i´m running? because this is 2008 and not R2 .

Please check Note 1553465 - Prerequisites for running the 720/721 EXT kernel on Windows. Have you updated vcredist component?

Hi Nelson,
Could you copy the new kernel to following location as well
E:\usr\sap\QAS\DVEBMGS00\exe
Then try to start the sap system.

Hi Nelson,
Which Windows version you are into ?
already copied to the kernel to both location and nothing, downloaded and installed the new vcredist_x64 from Microsoft page but still.
Which file did you download ?
What you need is below of these.
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 Redistributable Package (x64)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=90548130-4468-4bbc-9673-d6acabd5d13b
Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64)
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/en/details.aspx?FamilyID=eb4ebe2d-33c0-4a47-9dd4-b9a6d7bd44da
Hope this helps.

Hi Nelson,
As you have successfully deployed Microsoft Visual C++ 2005 SP1 Redistributable Package (x64) on development machine, you may do the following.
Copy msvcm80.dll, msvcp80.dll, msvcr80.dll and Microsoft.VC80.CRT.manifest from C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio 8\VC\redist\x86\Microsoft.VC80.CRT of the development machine to your system and check the results
Just verify the location as per your system before you make a copy.
Hope this helps.

Deepak Kori
Hi Nelson,
Something this issue might come... You need to manually copy the files to the following locations.
1.E:\usr\sap\QAS\DV*\exe
2.E:\usr\sap\QAS\SYS\exe\uc\NTAMD64\exe
Uncare the new kernels and overwrite the extracted kernels in the above locations and try to start the system.. Hopefully it should come up.
Thanks and Regards,
Vimal
