Error when calling SOAP Runtime functions

Hi Experts,

I created an Enterprise service client proxy to consume a .net web service and it works fine, we now have a request to consume the web service over https(ssl). I followed instructions from tutorial http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-26144 which gives instructions on how to setup SSL on AS ABAP, I was able to complete the steps but we opted to use a self signed certificate for the CSR request. HTTPS is up and running on ICM but when I attempt to call the web service I get the error message:

Error when calling SOAP Runtime functions: SRT: Processing error in Internet Communication Framework: ("ICF Error when receiving the response: ICM_HTTP_SSL_ERROR")

Exception of class CX_SOAP_CORE”

I have gone through I found people on scn with the same issue and its mostly certificate related issues.

My question is do I need to import a certificate for this? Should the owner of the web service send me a cert for me to import? If not why is the call failing?

Looking forward to your response

Kind regards,

Thabiso
