Hi Kumar,

see XI is used for message transformation in your scenario from some source msg structure to some target msg structure.......so by run time in XI - it is meant Runtime Workbench(RWB) which you can access through SXMB_IFR transaction..

In RWB , you have various options - you can monitor your msgs - what is happening to your msg in your scenario from source msg picked by XI to target msg generated by XI.....you can see the adapter status of your comm channels in RWB.....you can configure alerts for some error situations and see alerts in alert inbox in RWB. So in RWB, you can do an end to end monitoring of your scenario of XI and you can see the current status of your XI integration server.

Thanks,

Hi Kumar,

There are tow terms named as runtime in XI. First one is Runtime and another one is Runtime Workbench. Below are the few points about both these terms:

<b>Runtime:</b>

1. Explain basic concepts of XI message processing.

2. Describe the concept of the Integration Engine and the Pipeline.

3. Use the message monitoring capability of XI.

4. Contain info about XI-SOAP message format.

5. Coaching capibilities of integration server

<b>Runtime Workbench:</b>

1. Monitor messages, performance and components in the RWB.

2. Describe about End-to-End monitoring.

3. Describe alert capbilities.

Hope this will help you.

Hi Kumar,

XI has four components:

1)Integration repository----> where we build all design and mapping rules.

2)Integration directory-------> Here we will configure the adapters.

3)System Landscape directory----> All the technical details of the systems are stored here.

4)Runtime workbench------> Here we will monitor the processed xml messages and if any error occurs we can monitor in this.

Cheers,

Prasanthi.

Hi Kumar,

SAP Exchange Infrastructureruntime consists of a series of components:

· The Integration Engine executes the integration logic of the Integration Server and converts messaging (of the Integration Server or application systems).

· The proxy runtime uses proxies to exchange messages with the Integration Server. This section addresses the programming model for ABAP and Java proxies.

· The Adapter Engine uses the RFC adapter and external adapters to exchange messages with the Integration Server.

· The respective adapters are either connected using the Adapter Engine or run independently (for instance, the IDoc adapter and the plain HTTP adapter).

· Central monitoring monitors XI runtime components, the message flow, and the performance.

Do you mean the RunTime Workbench or Runtime in terms of Message Processing?

RunTime workbench is used to monitor messages, performance and components.
