Multiple Outbound Delivery to Single Inbound Delivery

Former Member

Hi Masters,

Need your help on this...

This is an Intercompany STO Scenario.

There would be multiple outbound deliveries from Multiple Plants for the Distribution Center Plant.

These outbound deliveries are converted to inbound delivery in one-to-one relation.

There is a third party forwarder, who charges on the basis of number of inbound deliveries he work on instead of truck load.

Inbound delivery is created in reference of PO, so i tried to add multiple POs but failed to do so as the PO field in Inbound delivery is grayed out.

So the requirement is : Can these multiple outbound deliveries be converged into single inbound delivery ? So that, it will reduce the amount to be paid to the third party forwarder.

Can we use any enhancement/ std solution ?

Please Suggest.

Regards

Nimaee

Hello Nimaee,

I am bit confused by the sentence "i tried to add multiple POs but failed to do so as the PO field in Inbound delivery is grayed out" -- when you need to have one Inbound Delivery for multiple of POs, you can

  • either select several documents in VL31N "Create Inbound Delivery"

  • or use transaction VL10B "Purchase Orders Due for Delivery";

There is actually no direct relation between Outbound Delivery and Inbound Delivery, only the Stocks in Transit have to match.

EDIT: Er, now I see it -- you want to have single Inbound Delivery for POs for different Supplying Plants? I'm next to sure this is not possible, the system will always split the Deliveries based with Vendor as splitting criteria (since there is Partner Function LF "Vendor" in delivery header). So, possible solution (if you need a single document covering several deliveries from different Vendors/Supplying Plants) would be using of Transportation Shipments where you can freely mix the Deliveries into single Shipment (see documentation for LE-TRA Transportation).

Hi Tomas,

Thanks for the reply,

We are trying to combine the outbound deliveries on the basis of "Ship to Party" & "Date".

Tomas, we are being charged on number of Inbound Deliveries,

The solution says about making a single shipment for all the inbound deliveries.

Could you please help me with the Procss with T Codes.

PO (ME21N)  >  Outbound Delivery (VL10B)  >  PGI  >  Inbound Delivery (Automatic with SPED Output Type)  >  Shipment (VT01N) ???  >  PGR ...

Is this the Process ??

I think this just seems to be "form" related.  So my opinion is to develop a smartfom program that allows you to select the IB and produced one form output for the forwarder.  I have done this method before, just ensure there are no vendor numbers on the form or they may treat it n deliveries anyway.

Hi Nimaee,

As you are creating inbound deliveries by using SPADE output from OD, it is not possible to create single inbound deliveries from multiple outbound deliveries. You can create one shipment (TCode VT01N) for multiple outbound deliveries and your forwarder should be charging based on shipment, not based on outbound or inbound deliveries. At my client location, we are creating single shipment for multiple outbound deliveries for forwarder.

Yep, Nimaee, you understand the process correctly. I think the standard provided Shipment Type for Inbound Delivery is 0010 "Inbound Shipment"; one of the first things you will have to do is to define Transportation Relevance for your Delivery/Item Type (SPRO: Logistics Execution -> Transportation -> Shipments -> Define Shipment Types), and the Print Outputs, obviously (...Transportation -> Basic Transportation Functions -> Output Control).

Hi Tomas,

Even if we create a shipment here & combine the inbound deliveries, still PGR will have to be done to individual Inbound delivery.

Client is not ready to do PGR for multiple Inbound. They want a single inbound only for Multiple Outbound..

But its sorted out.

We created a single outbound delivery for multiple PO & then converted it automatically to a single Inbound delivery using SPED output type & do PGR.
