Record Working Times :- System error: An error occurred when determining the business system

Hi Expert,

We are using WDA based ESS/MSS through NW7.31 portal and we are on EHP 6.

All the ESS-MSS fuctionality is working for us, only one funny message we are getting at Record Working Times screen " System error: An error occurred when determining the business system" (XSS_CAT_RFC 666), Altough this funny message is not stoping us to save or record our time sheet but why its coming.

We checked the SLD, Back end system exist in SLD but we did not define the business system in SLD as we do not have XI.

So my question is can we bypass this message during the ESS config at back end system or why it's looking for Business System for CATS URL.

Please suggest !!

Just want to added few information that after Select the check box in CVR profile for the user (Enable HR information in CATS)

We started to get that error message, Now my simple question is can we bypass this message as its looking for BUSINESS SYSTEM and we are not using XI in our landscape.

If possible then what's the way ?

Is it really required to configure the Consumer Proxy and Web services under SOAMANAGER ?

If we configure the below service & Consumer Proxy as per the below link then will that message (system error: An error occurred when determining the business system) be stop or ?

When HR-Enabled CATS  feature is enabled the ESS Record Working Time service will
try to get the employee work schedule through webservice call. From the
documentation in IMG, you can see that you need to configure the
consumer services and consumer proxies. This can be seen in the IMG
docu:

-> Personnel Management
-> Employee Self-Service (Web Dynpro ABAP)
  -> Service-Specific Settings
   -> Working Time
    -> Record Working Time
     -> Record Working Time
      -> HR-Enabled CATS
       -> Display Time Accounts<(>,,<)>
       -> Display Work Schedules for Employees

The consumer proxies and services have to be configured using the
transaction SOAMANAGER. Configuration involves creation of end points to
each of the services and default logical ports for the corresponding
proxies.

Thanks Siddhartha, I check KBA 1819681 and which is also saying the same thing, But i am wondering that after configuring web service & consumer proxy, problem will be resolved or it will ask to configure the business system in SLD (XI Setting and all).

yes issue would be resolved after setting the correct proxies.

But if you don't have XI then you would need to check business system in SLD
