Hi

Do i need to add the repository details to the job server to activate the Data service Designer. In the Designer level it pops up with the user id and the password. I have given the user id and the password in which i have created it in MySQL while creating the repository.

Do i need to give any other credentials or is it the right credentials which i have given as I mentioned above?

Hi Sanjay,

Please follow the below steps:

In Data Services 4.1 this feature is configurable and the permission must be given to the user to automatically download the login information on a secure connection. Alternatively there will be a warning "You do not have rights to retrieve the Data Services repository password from the Central Management Server" and the password of the data base will be prompted.

Resolution

To change this setting:

• Go to the CMC (Central Management Console) -> Data Services
• Point to repository folder & click mouse right button ,-> User security
• Select the user/group -> Assign security
• "Advanced" tab
• Add/Remove Rights (link)
• Expand the "Applications" on the left side
• Data Services Repository
• On the right side "Allow user to retrieve repository password"

Hi Sanjay,

If you do not need to trigger the job, you do not require to add the repository connection info to the job server.

Nawfal is correct. For reminder, BODS 4 require you to login with both CMC credential and repository credential in default. However you can grant the right "Allow user to retrieve repository password" to users in CMC > Data Services so that users can login with the CMC credential only, and without the repository credential.

Hi,

To login to designer, the job server is not needed at this stage.

For DS 3.x you need repo database credential

For DS 4.0 you have to add the repo in the CMC and in DS designer you login using the CMS system logon.
