Hi all,
Currently I am working on succession planning module. As per my understanding, I configured the things as below…
• IMG> Talent management and talent development>Succession Planning
• IMG> Talent management and talent development>Talent Groups
• IMG> Talent management and talent development>Talent Profile
• IMG> Talent management and talent development>Qualification in talent Management
• IMG> Talent management and talent development>Basic Settings> Career types & level
Rest are sap default configuration I have not changed anything.
Now I have few doubts here for which I request you to advise me.
1. How do I configure the search (IMG> Talent management and talent development>Basic setting> Search)
2. What are the essential configuration which I need to do in Basic settings (IMG> Talent management and talent development>Basic Settings)
3. I have configured the talent assessment (IMG> Talent management and talent development> Talent assessment). How will I utilize this configuration in my succession planning? Do we really need these templates as we do in PMS and if yes how do we access in portal?
4. With the help of HRTMC_PPOM, I have assigned the data in R/3, and then I have run the report RPTMC_profile_launcher. Still, I am not able to view all the ESS/ MSS data.
5. I would like to know how the R/3 data fetch into portal and use of Talent Management specialist role in portal. As I have checked the Talent profile once I entered CP no there then I am getting error like search is unavailable this time , Is this issue related to any basic settings or so please update.
Please provide your inputs
Regards

Hi Shaily,
For the search you need to read this blog:
For Talent Assessment, set it up in the IMG under Talent Management and Talent Development > Talent Assessment. You cannot use flexible approach - you must used the predefined approach through the IMG.
There is no essential configuration under Basic Settings - it all depends on what functionality you will use.
Best regards,
Luke

Hi Luke,
Thanks for your input. I am configuring TREX in my system. Currently I am using EHP4 without NAKISA. I would like to know about the below points.
1. What SP level is required in EHP 4 version for configuring TREX in succession planning?
2. I have configured the rest thing in HRTMC_PPOM, so could you please what would be possible further steps to see my data in portal
3. To be precise what are the exact data which I can see in portal with respect to succession planning.
Please suggest
Regards
Shaily Negi
Hi Shaily,
1. There is no specific SP level, although I always recommend starting with SP28 or above for EhP4. TREX revision 49 or above is a good level to start with.
2. You cannot see succession data in the Portal except in the Talent Profile for Managers and Talent Management Specialists. For this you need to have Talent Management available in MSS and/or the Talent Management Specialist role available.
3. You can see succession plans for individuals (but not for positions), career paths, work experience, mobility preferences, accomplishments, risks, potential, performance, and competencies.
Best regards,
Luke
Hi Luke,
Thanks for your input. You suggested for SP level 28 and TREX 49, it means if we don't have this then will it affect the succession planning? Because, below is the configuration in our system
EhP/ NW versions : 604/701
EA-HRGXX : 11
SAP_BASIS : 5
SAP_ABA : 5
SAP_BS_FIND: 5
TREX version :7.0
In case due to some limitation if we are not able to raise the SP level, can you please suggest any SAP notes related to do some manual configuration so that we can achieve our required configuration to implement succession planning
As per your input , "For this you need to have Talent Management available in MSS and/or the Talent Management Specialist role available"
Do we need availability of any specific role or configuration ?
Please suggest

Shaily Negi
Hi Shaily,
If you are only on SP11 then you will probably need to implement a lot of SAP Notes. On my current project we implemented around 50 SAP Notes for SP28 - and this doesn't include Talent Review Meetings or Talent Profile (just Nakisa and Talent Groups).
I think the best thing to do is just to implement fixes when you receive errors. Personally, I would upgrade the SP level because you will have to implement a lot of SAP Notes on your SP level.
For Portal you need the following Business Packages:

Luke
