Unable to open Word Document attachment from UWL

Dear experts,

We are making use of the attachment functionality in UWL.

It works fine for text docs or PDF files, however, but not for Word Documents.

We are able to attach the word document with no problem, but not able to open the file from the work item. The screen flashes and nothing happens.

Is this related to a browser setting? We are on IE8. Please help!

Hi Jessica!

Have you tried to download the file by right-clicking on it, and check to see if this works? Of course this wouldn't be a final solution, but just to understand if this would work or not.

Also it would be nice if you could let us know from which type of connector the issued items are coming from.

Also consider testing the scenario bypassing any load balancer or reverse proxy, in case there is such a thing. Sometimes incorrect scenarios involving protocol mismatch in the underlying layers may cause this kind of issues where clicking on links within the portal do nothing.

We are facing the same issue after upgrading the portal to 7.4 version. Did you manage to solve the issue?

If yes please share how you resolved the issue.

Hello Jessica,

no error message anywhere? In my experience messages for MS Office like to popup behind the browser windows.

Did you try excel-sheets, too?
