Is downtime required to install GRC Plug-in?

Hi gurus,

Is it ok to install the GRC 10.0 plug-in during a slow time such as a weekend or is downtime required like it is for traditional support packages?

Per advice from a GRC consultant, we put the plug-in into production during a slow time while users were on and background jobs were running.  This did not cause any issues.  We were careful to stop the GRC system itself while the plug-in install was running so it would not try to contact the partner systems.

Dear Clifton,

Downtime is not required for Dev & Quality systems but for Production system you may take a downtime of few hours depending on the required prerequisites.

So downtime is required?  Is there a problem with the plug-in when users are on?

It's recommended not to apply the pluggin when users are on.
