DSO on BWA

How are you guys implementing DSO on BWA? I know DSO cannot go in as it is in BWA. It has to be modeled into a cube (either standard or cube part of hybrid-provider or a BWA only infoc-cube). Just curious to know how the industry uses it.  Thanks.

Hi Murali,

Yes, we can use DSO in BWA. But it not exactly like the way we built for Cube. The concept is known as BWA Only Cube.

Whereas BW7.0 focused on the Data Manager layer and the InfoCubes, thereby solving most of the reporting performance issues experienced by BW customers, BW7.30 with BWA7.20 branches out into the other layers of the Data Warehouse. It is now possible to move DSO data directly into BWA, either via a BWA-based InfoCube (no data persisted on the DB) or via the new HybridProvider (which automatically pushes data from a DSO into a BWA-based InfoCube).

Were you able to achieve this DSO on BWA without hybrid providers?

Can we not DSO data in BWA directly?

Hi Jaydip,

BWA cannot be used for DSO.

Or, you can consider migrate your DB to Hana which can replace BWA.

Only with the help of hybrid providers based on DSO, BWA can be used on DSO's. System should have BW 7.3 and BWA 7.20.
