EHSM and SERC

Dear Experts,

I am a newbie in EHSM. I do not find any relevant materials to explore EHSM. I would like to know about EHSM and I have worked with legacy IHS and OH. I have EHSM 2.0 in my system as per BASIS information. But I have no clue on how to start with or any tcodes to access or the process flow or any functions to activate it. There is no relevant menus in Easy access screen. Guide me on how to proceed with.

Also , I see posts regarding this SERC 2013. Could u please tell me what is this about and where/why and when do we use this as I am a novice in it.

Hi Dhinesh,

You use EHSM via the SAP Portal. There are several threads on the subject that you can easily find in the forum.

I myself have asked many questions since I have to implement it for my client (I haven't started the implementation phase yet).

Regarding Component Extension: Execute a survey in this FORUM. A "high" number of threads generated with in the last roughly 12 months  show that this new solution is used more and more by different companies. Version 4.0 is (if i remember correct) now in ramp up phase.

Starting from SAP EHS Management classic you can "transfer" data to the new solution. The design or scope is different in comparisison to the old solution.

Coming back to SERC  / SERD: the use of these servises / solutions is a decision of the company running SAP. It is no must or mandatory. Clealry the use does have a lot of benefits. At the end: it is a company decision to use these solutions (alternatives are in place as well as there is more than one company delivering content etc.)): I did not execute a recent survey. But I assume that there max 5 companies which deliver such / similar solutions (inculding SAP). So the number of companies providing such services / solutions is limited and this situaiotn seems to be stable.

So EHSM can be accessed only via portal. Is that a portal server?. If I have a portal server and how do i access it. Is there any function to activate and authorize it. Please give me the steps in using it. I found the doc posted by C.B, however its vague for me to check which one and what to know.Could you please post the links as a step by step like below.

Dear Dhinesh,

You need to have the following function activated LOG_EHS_CI2 and the EA-PLM switch if you want to use the most up-to-date functions.

As Christoph pointed out, version 4.0 is in ramp-up and will be released, I think, by the end of the year (new functionalities).

To install EHSM, please check the following SAP notes :

Dear Dhinesh,

SAP provides the following roles to access EHSM :

SAP_EHSM_MASTER

Master PFCG role for all incident management, risk assessment and product safety and stewardship functionality. This role is intended for use as a copy template for the menu structures of the end user roles that are currently assigned.

SAP_EHSM_PROCESS_ADMIM

End user role for the person who is technically responsible for the workflow-based processes of EHS Management. This role assigns the menu structure in NWBC and portal to the end user and the necessary authorizations in the ERP system.

This role can receive workflow items. These work items are displayed based on the UWL configuration in the portal. An iView of the portal role is opened via Object Based Navigation for processing the workflow item.

SAP also provides standard roles for BI, Incident Management, Risk Assessment, etc.

Dinesh,

I suggest you start with the Master Guide for EHSM for the relevant extension pack (as found at http://help.sap.com/ehs).  It will explain for you what components are necessary, the basic business scenarios that are supported etc.  There are also more specific guides here on the security roles etc..

As EHSM is an abap webdynpro based solution you will need to use either NWBC or the portal to access the application.
