Blank Value as Filter in MDM_CLNT_EXTR

I am using MDM_CLNT_EXTR to extract vendors from an ECC system for an MDM system.  I want to filter out vendors flagged for deletion (LOEVM = X), but SAP recommends not using Distribution Model filter along with MDM_CLNT_EXTR (and I tried is anyway and it was failing).

Does anyone know of a trick to use blanks in MDM_CLNT_EXTR filter values?  For example if I want all vendors except those where LOEVM = X ?

Did you find an answer to this ? Very weird bahaviour of extractor.

Tried following but nothing worked.

Does this mean i have to filter the records myself in the Custom fuction module ? Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

Unfortunately not.

We ended up just sending all since we needed to do extract filtering on other conditions and then just set up process to remove records with delete indicator on the destination.
