Mixed loading configuration

Hi,

The property tree currently active in my sandbox does not have the Mixed Loading Value Assignment Types assigned to it. Please find below my questions regarding the same:

1. What are the standard value assignment types for Mixed Loading checks?

2. How do I add them to the MSDS property tree?

I tried adding one of them - SAP_EHS_1022_033 to MSDS Property Tree. However, in CGAB, when I try to assign the characteristic to the phrase set, I get the message No phrase-enabled characteristic is available for class SAP_EHS_1022_033. This is a standard class with data type char - 4. I am unable to change this to 30 too.

3. Is there any config document showing Mixed loading checks config., and end to end cycle?

4. Is there a Standard Interface of EHS DG with TM?

Much appreciate your help and inputs.

Thank you,

Sruthi

Hi Sruthi

Are you talking about  standard property Tree?. If iam not wrong we cannot maintain the Mixed loading information in standard property tree .

we should maintain the Mixed Loading information in DG Property Tree.while filling the DG Property tree we should take the reference from UN Listed substance,

Generally if we are trigger the Mixed loading check , it will pick the data from Dangerous goods master. In DGM this data will transfer from DG class substance by executing DG Filling.

Dear Sruthi

Regarding:

The property tree currently active in my sandbox does not have the Mixed Loading Value Assignment Types assigned to it. Please find below my questions regarding the same:

=> you can have "hundreds" of property tress in the system. A property tree is only a "view" on data (and clearly is used to maintain data). The "trick" is to assign property rees to specification types. You should check customizing if SAP_EHS_1022_033 exists and to which tree it is assigned

SAP delivers some "standard tress" (e.g. "STANDARD" etc.)

=> But a property tree contains "nodes" and "VATs" there you can maintain data. Now if SAP_EHS_1022_033 is not part of standard tree "you could change that".

But now you need to understand DG data model. And here I believe Balajee is right. This type of data is maintained on UN LIst Substance  and then "inherited" to REAL_SUB (please check SAP online help to understand DG maintenance; many people do have "problems" here to understand the model.

Regarding:

I tried adding one of them - SAP_EHS_1022_033 to MSDS Property Tree. However, in CGAB, when I try to assign the characteristic to the phrase set, I get the message No phrase-enabled characteristic is available for class SAP_EHS_1022_033. This is a standard class with data type char - 4. I am unable to change this to 30 too.

=> if a characteristic as delivered by SAP is not 30 char then it is not phrase related (but e.g. a table check is used). You should never ever change definition of a SAP characteristic

Regarding:

3. Is there any config document showing Mixed loading checks config., and end to end cycle?

=> to a certain extent yes and no. We have "Best practise" but regarding any other topic there is "nothing"like in MSDS/SDS distrbution; and you need to understand that with ECC 6.0 you have enhancement packages and here you can enhance DG; please check onlie help of SAP regarding that.

Regarding:

4. Is there a Standard Interface of EHS DG with TM?

  1. => yes. Refer to:  http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-44567

IN the past we have had this "nice" document:

http://help.sap.com/printdocu/core/print46c/en/data/pdf/EHSDGP/LOEHSDGP.pdf

but this page is not available any more

The topic of "mixed loading" has been discussed often. May be check e.g.

http://help.sap.com/saphelp_erp60_sp/helpdata/en/ef/3b913ab525fb23e10000000a114084/content.htm

and

http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-41109

Be aware of the fact that especially "mixed load" check and how to implement iit is a  company specific decision.

Hi Sruthi..!

I addition to the options given by our C.B, you can refer the place http://help.sap.com/saap/sap_bp/EHS_ERP605_CN/HTML/Content_Library_EHSM_EN_CN.htm

and go through the

851: EHS Management: Product Safety

you will see configuring property tree in section 3, 3.2 you will have an idea to set up the property tree.

In that you will find where (property tree) SAP_EHS_1022_033 is assigned.

As C.B has told, you can assign property tree to the specification type by following section 3.3.

If you try this, you may get the SAP_EHS_1022_033 in property tree you want..

Thanks & Regards,

Thank you all for your inputs! Appreciate your time. I may reach out to you more regarding the configuration of Mixed Loading checks, on how the segregation matrix works, and if there's any leading practice surrounding this.

Thank you,
