Which Crystal Report (2013 or Enterprise) suits best on HANA

Hello All,

We have a requirement to migrate the mappics DB to HANA and use the existing reports (Crystal Reports 2008)build on mappics database to point the new HANA database. We will be getting the mappics attributes made available in the HANA. But we are confused to choose the reporting tool (Cystal 2013 or Enterprise 4.1) while migrating these existing reports. Please advise If any one has similar experience. Thanks in advance.

Regards,

Siji Mathew

Hi Siji,

Both the flavours can connect to SAP HANA without any issues. Crystal Reports for Enterprise does a better job with SAP datasources (BEx etc), however I'm too sure how true this is with HANA.

Also, I guess it would be a easier task migrating from CR 2008 to CR 2011 than CR 2008 to CR for Enterprise.

Have a look at this document, perhaps you could choose for yourself.

Oh and also have a look at this document please.

Here's a snippet from that doc:

Brian said connecting Crystal Reports for Enterprise to HANA was “easy”.

Hello Abhilash -

Thanks for your quick response

Our objective is to migrate the reports built on 2008 to 2013 or Enterprise4.1 version with minimal amount of rework. CR2008 is pointed to mappics DB and the its moved to HANA. We will get the attributes in HANA as it is in MAPICS DB. All the calculations used in the existing 2008 reports should work fine in 2013 or Enterprise4.1. Is there any doc explaining the migration steps to CR2008 to CR2013 or CR Enterprise4.1. Will all the functionalities used in existing CR2008 work fine If we choose CR Enterprise4 .1 ? Please advise.
