Hi,

How can I make release strategy mandatory for a PO so that no PO even by chance escapes from release strategy. This is becaz due to inadequate maintenance of characteristic values release strategy is not applying on certain POs. But I need a solution within normal configuration

Thanks in advance,

Mallik

Hi,

We are using the following characteristics

Document Type

Purchase Group

Total value

Is there any way to control it by a system message.

Hi,

I believe the charactistics you mentioned is Ok .

But the thing is have you assigned all the PO document types , purhcase grp and total values condition in classification button of PO release strategy .

Check that .

Hi,

If we maintain the characteristic values perfectly without any overlaps or gaps then it works perfectly. There may be a chance of only 1% of having a gap or overlaps due to wrong configuration. So I just want to control that 1% also by any other means like throwing error message. Any solution to throw the error message if release strategy is not applied.

Hi ,

If you use all the document types & purchase group in release startegy and simplify the order value characteristics , then I think there is no way that ur POs will escape release strategy .

Or one thing you show the config details u did . May be other experts can point why the issue is occuring .

Thanks

Hi,

For the appropriate class, attach the following characteristic Total net order value (GNETW)

Once this charateristic is assigned, attach the class to the release group using txn. OMGS and maintain the characteristic value assignment as "greater than 0".

Then, all the POs would get subjected to the release strategy.

Please note that if you want all POs to be subject to this release strategy, you would need to have only this characteristic attached to the class. Otherwise, your problem would persist.

Hope this helps.

Hi malik,

Once u maintain the stratergy,

Release stratrgy applies for all p.o's depend on values maintained.

In your case value is less than characerstic value by the time Rel -stratergy will not apply.Sap standard configuration, dont have any such setting's to make release mandatory for p.o's

Hope it will, help you.

Hi,

If you want to make a release strategy mandatory for a PO. You have to define Release strategy with relevant Charectristics.

Hi,

You are requested to configure your release strategy in such a way so that your PO doesn't escape from release strategy .

Define the strategy with characteristic like Doc type,PO value. I think with these 2 characteristic your PO won't escape release strategy.

Thanks
