Learning XI

Former Member

After review various SAP carrer paths, I choose to switch my career from Oracle Developer to SAP XI ..

I like to dedicate next 3 months to learn XI as much as possible and hoping to get XI certified ..

I checked out XI documentation at SAP library and seems very useful.

I don't have access to any of the SAP software and seems its difficult to learn just by documentation ..

I appreciate advice from XI experts on

1. where to start and what are all free avaliable sources to learn & master XI

2. Is it worth spending on XI training by SAP AG

3. What's the best XI training avaliable in US other than by SAP AG

4. Any CBTs on XI avaliable ?

5. How is the XI job market and what are the expections from XI consultant by XI implementing companies/clients ..

Thanks a lot in advance for all replies .. I definetly award points for all valuable replies..

Hi Andhrapradesh,

Well, The decision is good.

Let me address to your questions..

1)where to start and what are all free avaliable sources to learn & master XI

There is no default or free server where you can connect and practice XI.You need to pay for that.

2)Is it worth spending on XI training by SAP AG

Absolutely, it is good idea if you have enough money to spend on this.Even if you spent you will get good return as knowledge.

3) What's the best XI training avaliable in US other than by SAP AG

I think there is no good training Instititue in US other than SAP AG.

4) Any CBTs on XI avaliable ?

Best one is SDN

5) How is the XI job market and what are the expections from XI consultant by XI implementing companies/clients

I can say very good market now in US.

so, I would suggest you to start learning XI as much as you can and start searching jobs and work sometime in india and move where ever you want.

Hi,

>>1. where to start and what are all free avaliable sources to learn & master XI

Go on the thread as I have mentioned in my earlier reply. Also go thorugh various links available on SDN. Check out the homepage of XI on SDN where it is mentioned as XI Knowledge Center by going here:

https://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.comhttp://www.sdn.sap.com/irj/sdn/developerareas/xi

>>2. Is it worth spending on XI training by SAP AG

SAP AG is the best place to learn it. But I will suggest you that first go thorugh the various documents available on SDN to understand basics of XI and then go for training. It will help you to get the best from the training.

>>3. What's the best XI training avaliable in US other than by SAP AG

http://www50.sap.com/useducation/curriculum/course.asp?cid=60174678

>>4. Any CBTs on XI avaliable ?

Yes, search for it on SDN, SAP Website and also visit e-learning section

>>5. How is the XI job market and what are the expections from XI consultant by XI implementing companies/clients ..
