We are looking to use SAP's Data Replication Framework functionality to transfer data from ECC to SAP ME (Manufacturing Execution), however we have no experience doing so and have only begun to test it in a sandbox environment. It seems to work very well for what we intend to use it for, but we have the following questions and would greatly appreciate other users experience.
1. What is the system performance impact of enabling this functionality?
2. What precautions are required when performing a service pack, or version upgrade to ECC?
3. Do you use DRF without using the other parts of Master Data Governance (MDG) solution?
4. What was the most important lesson(s) you learned from implementing DRF?
5. Are there any specific issues or "watch-out-for" items related to supporting DRF?
Thanks in advance,
Sam
Hi Sam, if you have the answer to those questions, they would now still be greatly appreciated.
More specifically, we are also looking at transferring standards manufacturing objects + some custom objects, through IDOCs and using DRF without using MDG. We really do not need all the governance framework in our scenario.
Regards,
Arnaud
