Hi Kevin,

What are the difference between SAP Classic version and SAP EHSM ?

Already,

SAP Classic Version

SAP EHSM

http://scn.sap.com/community/ehs-management/blog/2012/12/13/enhancing-sap-ehsm-overview

2) if we buy the EHSM Module what components will come along with this .

No you don't want to buy EHSM Module separately .

You want to install SAP EHS MGMT. EXTENSION 4.0

You have the following installation options

a) You already have ERP 6.0 EHP5 / EHP6 / EHP6 on HANA / EHP7 FOR SAP ERP 6.0 installed. You can install / upgrade to EHSM 400 via SAINT.

b) You need to upgrade to ERP 6.0 EHP5 / EHP6 / EHP6 on HANA / EHP7 FOR SAP ERP 6.0: Include the installation package of EHSM 400 while calculating the target stack, so that EHSM 400 is installed/upgraded together with the ERP upgrade.

More information please refer: Note 1808983 - Installation / Delta Update of EHSM 400

3) If we are taken EHSM Module, Product safety ,Dangerous goods Management , PRC will come along with this or we need to buy PRC License separately?

Product safety ,Dangerous goods Management not available as of now in EHSM

YES, PRC also included add-on package.

Dear Kevin,

SAP EHSM is the updated product from SAP which focuses on Incident Management, Risk Assessment and Product Compliance. SAP upgrades this version using component extension starting from 1,2,3 and recent is 4. Customer has to buy a separate license to use this. If the customer uses the classic version he may still upgrade it to EHSM .

The classic version has all the modules like, PS, WM, IHS, OH, HSM, and DG.

SAP may not support the classic EHS- IHS/OH in future. Support Only for EHSM. The remaining modules will work as it is.

On the top, U will have to have the basic components of EHS.

Dear all,

i would like to add some remarks:

a.) SAP may not support the classic EHS- IHS/OH in future => this is not really true;M as long as there is a SAP suport there is a OSS support; but th pitcuter is clear; no further functionality will be provided in EHS IHS/OH "classic"

Regarding;

1) What are the difference between SAP Classic version and SAP EHSM ?

Some explanations have been given. Check e.g. http://scn.sap.com/docs/DOC-41109

2) if we buy the EHSM Module what components will come along with this  ?

Shortly: SAP EHSM is a "term" used to "combine" from license point of view different SAP solutions. On is EHS "classic" and one is "COmponent Extension for SAP EHS Management"

Regarding:

3) If we are taken EHSM Module, Product safety ,Dangerous goods Management , PRC will come along with this or we need to buy PRC License separately?

Depends on your history. If you have never used EHS or EHSM: EHSM containas (as licencseI according to SAP:

SAP EHS "classic" together with Component Extension of SAP EHS Manage, ment.  SAP Product And REahc COmpliance Suite seems not to be part of an EHSM licence. In any case: Don' hesitate by using you local SAP contact to get an overview about "licensing" (not essy topic")

Hi C.B

Thanks for u r information  and  what i understood is SAP is changed the naming convention of SAP EH&S in to SAP EHSM from SAP ECC 6.0 version release onwards. and they are  introduced the roles concept which are required for configure the front end user interfaces(portal).and they are adding new components like PC , IM & RA as component extensions to EHSM

What is the difference b/w Product compliance and Product Reach Compliance. Even in Product compliance also client have the facility of complying Reach related regulations for their products , then how PRC will help the additionally the people who are using Product compliance module.

please comment.

Dear Kevin

that is not really correct (butr not worth to discuss more). SAP EHSM is the term used to describe a "license". Check e.g. http://help.sap.com/ehs

But yes you are right: forget the term SAP EH&S. This solution is now known under the termn "SAP EHS Management" (check e.g. http://help.sap.com/ehs27)

Regarding:

"and they are adding new components like PC , IM & RA as component extensions to EHSM"

the correct worindg would be: the add anything which is new as part of "Component Extension for SAP EHS MAnagement" (but once again this is not worrth to discuss).

Regarding:

What is the difference b/w Product compliance and Product Reach Compliance.

What is more complex than the term EHS or EHSM..

Before aquisition of TechniData by SAP there was a product availabel called Compliance for Producst (if i remember correct). The "content" of this solution is now to a certain extent part of SAP Product and Reach compliance Suite and partlyl of "Component Extension for SAP EHS Management!

I am not sure to whcih "Product compliance module" you are referring to. The "problem" is: there are too many terms and a "mispmatch" of understanding (mainly because of history).

It is not easy to explain tzo a consultant these terms and even those wich know the history might have problems. For those which start with SAPEHS Management may be it might be easier.

Hope this helps

Hi Kevin,

EHSM is the new version of what you can find in EH&S - IHS. Users access only via the Portal. On the consultant's side, you have customizing via SPRO and developments are done using ABAP Webdynpro and FPM.

In EHSM, Incident Mangement is similar to the previous incident/accident management blended with some occupational health (wounds, diseases, etc), some work area management and a touch of Risk Assessment.

Risk Assessment is similar to the previous risk assessment solution with some occupational health, work area management.

Of course this is just a small summary. You also get new features, workflows, etc

On the SAP Help Portal, have a look at Component Extension for SAP Environment, Health and Safety Management 4.0
