Hi experts,
It is necessary to restore source system via RSA1 in SAP BW after upgrade SAP ECC5 to ECC6?
Thanks.
HI
An activation (no replication) is enough there is no need for a restore.
hope that clarifies

Before ECC upgrade,we should clear all the delta Queues and pull it in BW.After upgrade ,if the source system connection is ok from BW side,We can run Delta info package.sometimes there may be issues with Idocs are not getting pushed and we should check the target destination in SMQ1 tcode also to confirm it should point our respective BW landscapes.

I wouldn't personally recommend this, I may be mistaken, but I believe this can deactivate all your source system dependent objects, such as datasources etc.
Besides, it is not necessary to restore after an ugrade.

Hi,
Better to recheck the logical mappings between ecc and bw..
You can check at RSA1--> Source system --> select your connected source system --> check. check the test connection. if its ok. fine otherwise need to reassign your source and target system with help of basis team. Tx - BDLS.
Thanks
