Wily Introscope Enterprise Manager (RTV) dedicated server and would like to keep 1 year historical data.

1) How many CPUs

2) Minimum Amount of RAM

3) Hard Disk Space

4) It seems EN Manager Stores the data in smartstore. Smartstore is database or fily system?

5) If it is database would it be possible to configure on any other database server - SQL server ? If yes what is the procedure?

6) If it is file system would it be possible to configure on NAS or SAN to avoid disk space issues? If yes what is the procedure?

Created a OSS message with SAP and waiting for response (1162010/2013)

Appreciate any help.

Hi Gopal,

See below:

1) How many CPU.

[toby] See the Introscope sizing guide

2) What is the RAM requirement

[toby] See the Introscope sizing guide

3) It seems ENT Manager stores the data in smartstore. Is it
a database or file system?

[toby] It is a file system database proprietary to CA Introscope

4) If smartstore is a database would it be possible to use
SQL Server2012 instead of smartstore? If yes then how to configure?

[toby]  You can use a SQL type database however you
need a full license of Introscope or purchase the SAP Extended Diagnostics
package

5) If smartstore is a file system then is it possible to
configure it on SAN or NAS instead of server file system to avoid disk space
issues.

[toby] Yes, you can do this.  See the Admin and Configuration guide for configuration of SmartStor database.

6) Is it ok to configure one java agent to write the data
into two enterprise managers?

[toby] Yes, you can do this.
This is referred to as a MOM Configuration (Manager of Managers).  It
essentially load balances between multiple WIEM servers.  For
instructions, refer to the Admin and Configuration guide.

Sincerely,

Toby Johnston
