How do you deal with items that are procured in bulk shipments but issued in parts?

Hi,

We currently run SAP B1 and are trying to figure out the best way to deal with design codes. We buy our thousands of designs in sheets[at times, we have multiple designs on one sheet to minimize cost] but, we issue them out as stickers/motifs that vary in size to various departments. What is the best way to track such items? Do we use codes for designs or sheets? Costing is a mess right now.

I just thought I'd post the temporary solution I've thought of for now.

We will basically be using the parent - child concept. Every shipment I have will most probably have different parent item codes. It is tedious but I really can't think of anything else for now. Do post if you can think of anything else.

Hi,

Track all designs along with stock , any new additions add to the existing stock, any distributions, store in the child table along with design, person to whom it was issued , qty issued. After issuing , update the existing stock , so that you are aware of the current stock.

Thanks

Priya

Hi Varun,

I will suggest to create the BOM for the Design and Sheet.

Purchases the Same item and then run the Disassembly type of Production Order.
