Dear All,

I have gone through thread Software update Manager - could not connect to ... | SCN.

I have executed netstat -an in D:\usr\sap\put\SUM\sdt\exe. (attached)

It is not showing 4241 port, what it means...?

am not able to open DSUGui.bat

Hi Srini

Open command prompt using run-----> cmd.

Go to path D:\usr\sap\put\SUM\sdt\exe\

Drag DSUService.bat to your command prompt and hit enter. It will launch your SL controller. SAP system availability doesn't matter to launch SL controller. Do not close this cmd prompt until your upgrade is completed.

Probably it will ask you to launch application in administrator mode.

Open another cmd prompt Drag the file DSUGui.bat to your cmd prompt and hit enter. This will launch GUI version of SUM tool.

Regards,

SG

Dear Srinivas,

Might be SUM is not extracted correctly. Please extract it once again and start the SL controller using SID<ADM> user and start the  DSUGui.bat from the location SUM\sdt\exe

Dear Srinivas,

While upgrading using SUM, use SIDadm user to execute the SUM. Try to put the generated stack xml file in /usr/sap/trans/EPS/in folder along with all the downloads (required for upgrade). try this and keep us posted.

Dear Karthik,

I have copied stack.xml as well sum files to usr/sap/trans/eps/in

I have attached the error.

Hi Srinivas,

In the SUM - select target screen give the full path of the stack.xml file like

D:\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in\SMSDXML_TMS_2013xxxxxxxx.XML instead of just D:\usr\sap\trans\EPS\in

You are using forward slash in the path instead of backward slash as you are on Windows.

Click on the browse button and navigate to the file and select it.

Dear Reagan,

It is only taking forward slash....i have selected path from navigation.

I didnt gave it manually.

As you said i tried with backward slash, its not working.

Hi Srinivas,

Have you downloaded all the files mentioned in the stack.xml files, or any files yet to be downloaded or waiting for approval in download basket. Please double check the approval waiting list.

As mentioned by RB, check sap kba - 1869260

Dear Karthik,

I am again generating XML files , I will check and let you know.

One more question, my kernel is 720 with Patch 114 , i have applied above 400, Server is up but it is not reflecting in system.

Due to that when i am resync data in LMDB , it is showing out of date ppms .

Dear Srinivas,

Download all the files and make sure in the download basket none of the files are waiting for approval, and retry with SUM.

Dear Karthik,

I have confirmed the files waiting for approval, I need to uncar them and paste in eps/in

or can i directly keep in eps/in folder.

You don't need to uncar them.

Download them and put them in the same directory with the stack file.

Hello Srinivas

All the files required for the upgrade should be put in the /USR/SAP/PUT directory along with the stack file.

Hello

The only error I see is that it is not able to identify or recognize the stack file.

What does the logs at the OS level say ?

It is normal that the SUM tool asks for the sidadm user and password during the upgrade.
