Duplicate values in the BEx filter

Hi Experts,

I am creating an Webi report using a BEx query, the filter variable which i have used in the BEx gives me the duplicate values in the prompt screen.. User is getting confused and requested to display a unique values. Please refer the attached..

Could you please help me to fix this? thanks in advance...

Hi Vinay,

Can you please check key and text in properties..I think key is  diffrent and text is same for all and you are showing text so its confusing..please check once again.

Hi Yasmeen and Ganesh,

• The InfoObject which am using does not have any compounded objects in it.
• I just checked the properties of the infoObject(0SALES_GRP) it is set with "Text" only.. So what do you think should it be set with "Key" and "Text"???

Yes enable key and text for that object to avoid confusion..Else maintain meaningful text rather than maintaining same text for two different keys.

Hi Vinay,

make a selection on 0SALES_GRP.

in column panel -> right click -> new selection -> drag and drop 0SALES_GRP to details place.

right click on 0SALES_GRP -> restrict the AGARWV two objects.

are you using any constant value one KF this cube.

Hi Vinay,

You need to correct master data @ BI side or user will able to identify with key then show as key so it will show the unique recors..I would suggect correct master data menas change the text in source system it will load in BI and your problem will resloved.

Hi Pani,

you are suggesting to harcore one value which is not his problem...while selecting some values user are able to see all aviable values from master data in his case text is similar for some 0SALES_GRP.

Hi Vinay,

Please check if there is any master data having the same text for different keys. If so, the master data should be corrected. Maybe short text is same and long or middle texts differ in your master data. You may view key and text in your query, and see the results changing short, medium and long texts

Hi Vinay,

We have faced similar issue in our Bex report, just check if it helps.

In our reports filter we were getting Two value for one region.

Checked the Master data table and found we had two entries for same region.

And there is no text maintained for second key("ASIA")

Since we dint maintain Text for the other Key, it was taking key as Text and showed "ASIA".

so only we got Two entries.

And also the data was wrong in source system level, data was there for "AS" and "ASIA"(which is not required)

So we modified the data in source system ( removed data with "ASIA") and refreshed Master data table.

Appreciate your efforts, thanks a lot for the graphical explanation... I told to the user thats is how it is maintained in the SAP ECC, and proposed your method... he said me not to bother move on as it is, since he needs the report move to P at the earliest...

This one problem with master data and your maintaing same text in 2 times in cube level.

in designer level make a selection AGARWV this objects put restrict which object under.

Hi Vinay,

Does this characteristic have any compounding? I am not used to work with Webi reports but just an idea that the problem may be due to the compounding characteristic. If so you may try to find a way to show the compounding also in selection screen of Webi.
