Hello friends.

We have hardship with liveCashe, after SCM productive client copy to test system client.

There is no documentation about situation like this - mainly rare posts.

Somebody did it before?

Is there some "How to" or something like this?

Thank you.

Kind regards, Oleg.

Hello Jamie.

Firstly i was going to do it like you said in first post:

Upload liveCache data into scm client -> scm client copy to test scm system and then,

try to upload trans. data to test liveCache.

But it seems to be more likely do it by easy maxdb restore operation.

Thank you.

Hello,

1. "Firstly i was going to do it like you said in first post:

The liveCache data are storred in the containers & could be accessed by the LCA routines call or //OM* functions on the SCM system.

There are no options to download the data for one client, then upload them to the source.

You could do it for the SCM database, but you have to copy data for SCM database & liveCache in sync.

There is the external client option, it's dependent on you bisness-project needs.

2. Please review the SAP notes:

886103

System Landscape Copy for SAP SCM

632357

Backing up liveCache data for SCM 4.0 or higher

457425

Homogeneous liveCache copy using backup/restore

3. Best will be to create the SAP message to BC-DB-LCA component & discuss the project & options via SAP support.

Hello Oleg,
"SCM productive client copy to test system client"

Is it SCM system copy or just client?

What is the system version?

What is the SCM Sp stack?

liveCache/LCA version?

Have you tried using the SAP notes on downloading liveCache into the rdbms database? (e.g. ORACLE)

I think if you do this in-client you could potentially the do a client copy and re-initialise liveCache instance on the target and reload into there.

But is the target liveCache shared? I assume it's dedicated to a client 001?

Either that or take a full MaxDB backup at the same time and restore to the target

Backup/restore ops for MaxDB liveCache instances are generally extremely quick and the DB Studio tools should make it pretty simple.
