Issue for transport datasource

Dear All,

I am facing an issue in the new BW implementation project,

Kindly find below procedure I took and give your valueable suggestion on it:

1. Activate the datasource 0PERSON_ATTR from RSA5 in ECC system;

2. Replicate the datasource in BW system;

3. Migrate the 3.x datasource 0PERSON_ATTR to 7.0 version;

4. Following the trf and dtp and ip without any problem and data load is successfully.

Then i will transport this new datasoruce into QA system:

1. Firstly transport the datasource in ECC side successfully;

2. Secondly when i try to import the TR in BW QA system, it gives the RC 8 with below error message,

Start of the after-import method RS_RSDS_AFTER_IMPORT for object type(s) RSDS ( )

Cannot save DataSource 3.x 0PERSON_ATTR (BWCLNT800)

Error RSAOLTP 077 during after import handling of objects with type(s) RSDS

Cannot save DataSource 3.x 0PERSON_ATTR(BWCLNT800)

Message no. RSAOLTP077

Diagnosis

Cannot save DataSource 3.x (R3TR ISFS) on the database, since a DataSource (R3TR RSDS) already exists with the same name.

Procedure

If you want to recreate the DataSource, choose a different name.

did you get answer from SAP regarding your problem?

We have the same issue! But with DataSource 0WBS_ELEMT_TEXT.

Hi,

From the error it looks like the transport request holds the old version of the data source. Please check the object details of  the transport request via transaction se09 or se01. you could see that the data 0PERSON_ATTR is collected as R3TR, ISFS..it should be R3TR RSDS.

Could you please collect only the datasource in  one transport request from dev and move to QA. Hope it will fix the issue.

I tried to check the TR, all is R3TR RSDS, not ISFS,

Hi,

With BW 7.01 SP6, I could transport a complete project with CRM datasources 3.x migrated in 7.x without any manual replications following the steps above mentioned by Dong Lee.

Since we migrated to BW 7.31 SP10, for a new project, BEFORE the transportation of ISU datasources, I had to manually replicate and migrate the 3.x datasources to avoid CR8.

Hi,

When you moved Ecc dev to ECC Qa datasource have you replicated datasource in BW QA?

If not please replicate datasource in BW QA and then import transport request from BW dev to Qa.

Go to RSA6 in ECC QA and check if the Datasource is Active. If yes , then replicate metadata for the entire source system in BW QA and then try importing the changes.

In QA system: Replicate metadata for whole application component in which 0PERSON_ATTR exist.
After that try to re import old TR.

If it not works try with new TR by replicate data source, change and activate.

Hi Lee,

Have you tried the option suggested by me. Did you checked how the objects are collected on the the transport request. whether it is R3TR RSDS or R3TR ISFS.

In bi dev system try to install the 3.x datasource with match x copy after installing replicate the datasource and collect the tr for the datasource and transport to quality.

Hi Lee,

Error saying about data source version.

At dev system can you check the table RSDS, if your data source was existed here then its in 7.x version.

Transport need follow the below sequence.

1. Move ecc data source to ecc quality.

2. Replicate ecc quality data source to bw quality(you missed this step)

3. Move bw dev active data source to bw quality.

4. move infocube/dso

5. transformations and dtp.

Can you share your data source tree from RSA1.

I tried the same way, but in QA bw system, when i replicate the datasource, it gives the 7.0 version only, and when i report the 7.0 version from Dev to QA bw system, the same error,

you are not save and activating the data source specific source system then you can activate and save the data source respective source system.

please check the source system connection then again replicate the one more time data source.
