HRMSS_A_CATS_APPROVAL_1 not showing timesheets from substitution manager

Hi All,

We are using HR Renewals Feature Pack 4 on EHP6.

For MSS we are using the WDA application HRMSS_A_CATS_APPROVAL_1 (Approve Individual Timesheets). things are working fine as long as there are no substitutions active. However, the application is not showing the timesheets of the other managers' team members when substitution is active.

For example, Manager M1 has nominated another manager M2 as substitute. When an employee from M1's team submits timehssets M1 is able to view the timesheet using HRMSS_A_CATS_APPROVAL_1 WDA aplication but manager M2 is not able to view it even though the substitution is active.

This problem is occuring only for timesheets. Other features like leave and expenses are vailable M2 when ever there is substitution is active.

I am not able to undestand this behavour at all. Is there any special report that we need to run for timesheet approvals inorder for timeshets to be visible tothe substitue manager?

appreciate your help in advance,

PK

In standard the time management queries do not provide the substitution

functionality in the MSS inbox POWL. However, in the workitem query the

substitution functionality can be used. It is possible to make custom

feeder classes where you provide the substitution for the time

management queries too. This is true for POWL, But we have introduced Substitutions for MSS

But in UWL if you call above application HRMSS_A_CATS_APPROVAL_1 , it should be possible

Hi Sidharth,

Thank for your reply.

I forgot to mention that we are using NWBC for HTML, not Portal. The substitute manager calls the application from the left navigation tree available as part of the standard role's PFCG node structure in NWBC for HTML.

We can not use the POWL query for timeaprovals mainly for one reason, the managers want to have the facility of being able to see past approvals before aproving the current timesheets and this functionalty is not available in the POWL query. However, this is possible if they access the timesheet approvals WDA application (the "Approve Individual Timeseet" application, not the POWL query) from the left navigation tree.

Also, the work item of the other team's employees is avaiable in SAP Inbox. We want this to be available to the substitute manager along with his own team's timesheets, when he opens up the apliction for Individual timesheet Approvals.

Is there anyway we can achieve this?

Thanks in advance,

PK

you can see past approval in POWL Config as well! There is a filter called approved timesheets

if you configure POWL with WFs it should work , as CATS standard on POWL which is used in NWBC, is typically based on OM structure, to get subs working you need to configure it as explained here

Hi Sidharth,

We can not use the POWL query for time approvals because the manager's have no way of viewing the past approvals without having to navigate away form the current employee's timesheet approval screen. The filer you are talking about makes them leave the screen to view the approved timesheets. So this option is ruled out.

We have to use the WDA application "Approve Individual Timesheets" provided in the standard role and currently the manager's are not able to see the substituted manager's team's timesheets for approval. Provided some screenshots of the problems:

1. The image below shows the manager's inbox in the tcode SBWP. The workitems highlighted in red are from another manager's team coming in because of substitution

2. The image below is the inbox in NWBX from POWL query provided for acceswsing the backend inbox. The workitems highlighted in red are the timesheets that are coming in because of approval, same as those described in the image above.

3. When the manager opens the WDA application provided in the standard role's menu structure, only the manager's own team's timesheets are available. None of the timesheets that should come in because of substitution are visible at all. You can notice that the two workitems highlighted in the two images above are missing in the image below

Isnt there anyway in which the timesheets of substituted manager's employees appear in the WDA application?

Regards,

Pavan

as I said you need to configure the inbox to enable the substitution

Anyhow can you check if you are using

WL_ID If you see Application HRMSS_A_CATS_APPROVAL in SE80 you will see that parameter is indeed WL_ID. can you debug and verify the above application?

it depends upon the profile in table CATS_APPR_PERSP which has a period, you can change it Period Type Specifies the period for which the recorded data is to be grouped in one line of the collective approval. Use You enter the general frequency with which your approvers approve recorded time data. If, for example, your approvers always approve the data every Friday, you should choose the week period type. The data is then grouped in the line according to the period. This enables the approvers to process the data by period. You can choose from the following period types: Weekly: You can enter the first day of the week in the First Day field. Twice Monthly: The periods start on the first and sixteenth of every month. Monthly: The periods start on the first day of each month. No Period: Data in the list is not sorted by period, only by the collective approval criteria
