BPC 10 NW - Dimension Descriptions goes missing.

Hi all,

Anyone has encountered the issue whereby a newly copied environment descriptions in all dimensions went missing?

For example, Environment A has all the descriptions filled-in for all the dimension but once I did a copy into a new environment B, everything completed successfully except the descriptions in all dimension are empty.

Samples are as attached.

Any ideas / help will be much appreciated!

I have the same problem copying from a restored IFRS Starter Kit SP05 to a dev environment on the same server.

Had the same issue with USGAAP Starter Kit, I ended up doing a new restore to another Environment with UJBR instead of copying for a restored one

Can you send a screenshot for "Master Data text" transformation file.?

Is the file validating properly.

Also, if you have special characters in transformation file then the description gives issues.

We have no transformation file for master data text as there are no need for it.

There are no special characters in the dimension too.

This issue only happenned in one server and not on the other server which it created (transported) from.

Hi All,

In addition, this issue only happened in the Production system whereby there was no issue in the Development system.

All the dimensions were transported successfully from Development system.

For me it was inconsistency between DEV and QAS on RZ10 language parameters.

Can you share which parameter in particular set for the language in RZ10?

I don't remember setting any parameter for the language unless it is a default ones.

Also SA38 -> RSCPINST

Make sure these values are the same in both systems.

If that does not help, what I also did, was check parameter RFC_DESTINATION in Transaction UJ0_IMG_01, and then in SM59 set that RFC to Unicode.

Thanks for the info.

As far as the language parameter was concerned, I don't remember using it in RZ10.

So, it has to be on the default setting on both servers. But I will still check on it.

As for the RFC, I'm quite sure it's on unicode already. I will do another check on both servers.

I will update again once checked.

I've checked the language parameter in RZ10 for both servers and they are the same.

Also for RFC, it is on Unicode.

So, it seems these are not the cause of the issue.

Check for TCURT table in BW and see for which language the texts are maintained there.

If you have ECC connected to BW, you can go to source system through RSA1 - ECC will be the source system in this case and update the tables. See the screenshot below:

You can also run program RSIMPCURR to do the same.

1)Try Lite Optimization for each model in existing environment and do copy.

2)try program UJD_BACKEND_DATA_MAINTENANCE

3) Activate dimension info objects manually in backend.

Below are my comments,

I have performed lite optimization for all models and performed a environment copy again.

However, same issue persists.

2)try program UJD_BACKEND_DATA_MAINTENANCE

Can you elaborate more on what I should do with this program?

I've tried running it in SE38 but the results are blank?

3) Activate dimension info objects manually in backend.

I've checked in RSA1 on all the dimension info objects and they are all active, hence I can't activate them manually.

Please advise further. Thank you!
