TABLE CONTROL : CHANGING THE ORDER OR COLUMNS

Former Member

Hi friends

I have created a table control and it is working fine. But I want to edit it and change the order of columns. I am in the layout screen (SE52) and I am not able to drag it and change the order. I double clicked on the columns and I can see the column numbers but they are greyed out.

Is there a way to change the order of the columns?

Your answer will be highly appreciated.

Thanks

Ram

Make sure you are in change mode, there is no reason to delete the columns, you should be able to drag and drop then as you need to using the first cell of the column in the first row.

Hi Ram,

Delete the columns and add them in the order you want again in the screen painter.

Ram,

I have found that you can only drag-and-down one screen at a time... meaning IF your table control takes up more than one screen width in the screen painter, you must drag-n-down in "chunks."

Ex: If the column to be moved is last (at the far right of the Tbl Control)...drag it to beginning (or first visble column on the left) in the tbl control.. and drop it there. Then drag (repeatedly as needed) to the left until you reach your desired position.

Thanks John

I tried this, but when I drag and drop nothing happens. I tried dragging it to the next field but it just stays in the same column.

I would appreciate anymore suggestions that I can try.

Thanks

Hi Ram,

Make sure that you are in change mode.

Select the cell you want to move from the first row ( not the heading ) and drop where you need it. It will work surely.
