Edit SAP BPC 7.0 SSIS on Windows 7

Hi to all,

we've got an installation of SAP BPC 7.0 SP12. We're starting a process of migration of OS and application, and soon we'll migrate towards BPC MS 10.

In the meanwhile, we've got this problem: we've customized many different SSIS on our PC Clients, and we'd like to maintain them,

Unfortunately, we get an "ActiveX" error when we try to edit a SSIS on BIDS 2008 with OsoftSSIS components inside from a Windows 7 pc, and so the SSIS cannot be edited or done from scratch.

As anyone had any experience?

Thank you

Daniele

Hi Daniele,

What version of SQL are you running on your BPC 7.0 system?

The following comes from one of the installation guides:

To successfully modify an SSIS package that contains Data Manager custom tasks, do so on the Planning and Consolidation application server or DB server. Do not modify the SSIS package on a machine other than the application server or DB server.

These custom tasks reference dlls that connect to the DB server and perform certain validation when users set up the parameters of each task. All the custom task reference components must also be installed in the machine on which you want to run and modify SSIS packages.

Thanks,

Scott

Hi Scott,

we run a SQL Server 2008.

We've been always successful in editing / creating new SSIS from our pc clients (Win XP machines). We just added the SSIS additional tasks in Visual Studio, with no problem at all (there is a good SAP note about it, 1404629, that explains how to do it on a client machine)

That doesn't work unfortunately in Windows 7...
