Hi Experts,

Can anybody please guide me a bit on the prerequisites for implementating Talent Management.

SAP system is at EHP-6, so we have inbuilt Talent Management configuration options & informations.

Implementation of ESS/MSS will take place.

Now to run Talenet Management do we need to have STVN-NAKISA in place(As NAKISA Involves licensing charges)

Please guide.

Martin,Client have scope of HANA & we are going for a partition in the current system to accomodate E-rec.

Can we put TREX on E-rec or at the same time on the SAP server where we are managing all out configs.

Hi Martin,

I was actually missing out these informations even i have raise another question will you be able to answer that?

1stly we dont have any scope for TREX at present & STVN-NAKISA also, although we just have Portal with ESS/MSSS.

STVN along with NAKISA requires aditional expenses in Licenses so right now it looks difficult.

What would be best possible solution to run TMS,Succession etc on SAP, how can we achieve a best possible system with these kind of limited scope.

Hi,

as I discribed before....

You can run TM without Nakisa. But I would not recommed not having TREX installed. You will need it for all talent management specialist related scenarios.

If you dont have TREX you can check Tcode hrtmc_ppom in the backend. Here you can do some (limited)  tasks without TREX.

Hi Martin,

Thanks a lot.

1/ Well is TREX going to be a diffenent system which neeeds to be conncerted with SAP DB, Is it compulsory to have TREX in Place?

2/ Can we still manage TMS without TREX.

3/ What is the significance of NAKISA.

Help guide me on this & if you could share any link will be thankful.

Hi,

1) TREX is adifferent system on a different server. It is connected to the SAP sytsem via RFC. All Manager scenarios can be done without TREX. But all TMS scenarios (Talent Information, Search, Talent Review meeting...........) can only be executed with TREX having installed. So my opinion is you will need TRX.

2) see 1)

3) There are a lot of function like visualization of talent data in STVN. This is not a mst have, nevertheless ther are a lot of nice functions. It depends on your business needs. But there are additional licenses necessary.

If you plan to make succession planning in portal as a TMS you will need STVN. In SAP standard it is only possible on backend. Some customers do not use STVN and cretae a custom app for succession planning with webdynpro.

Hi,

to run SAP Talenet Management you do not need STVN from technical point of view. I know customers who run TM without STVN. However it is a good choice as addon for succession management.

Additionally you need a TREX Instance for all Talent Management Specialist processes. The Enterprise search which is connected to TEREX is part of your neteweaver instance. Enterprise search itself is used to perform talent search from frontend.

MSS is working without TREX.

Of course enterpise portal is required with the corresponding business package installed.

Hi,

in TM there is a role which is called Talent Management Specialtist (TMS). This is in most organization an HR employee sometimes a HR Business Partner.

This role has different functionalities like "Talent "Information" or planning "Talent review meeings" etc. E.g. in Talent information the first step is a talent search. That means the TMS first executes a search for a paticular employee (talent). After that he has access to his talent profile and other stuff. This search is done via enterprise search/TREX. Without TREX having installed you will not get any results when executing the talent search.

In Talent Groups and Talent Review meetings you will find further talent searches. These processes are all related to TMS.

The TMS cannot work in the system without having TREX installed and having enterprise search configured. All necessary HR data of your SAP HR System is extracted and transferred to TREX. This is done outomatically and in realtime. So if you make any changes to a org unit the change is transported to TREX immediatly.

Some Information on TREX: TREX is a search engine which is installed on a seperate server. The Netweaver system connects to TREX.

hope that helps....
