Hello,
I would like to stop HANA services and prevent them temporarily from being restarted for testing purposes.
In daemon.ini I came across the runlevels of the services in daemon.ini and I suppose it has to do with that. The several services show numbers between 1 and 5; e.g. compileserver (hdbcompileserver) is on runlevel 2.
1.st could anyone please explain these runlevels ? Are they resposible for restart of services ?
2nd which value do I have to choose in order to prevent a restart
3rd: Are these parameters dynamic or static (do I have to reboot before it is valid?)
Any correct solution to this?
OS: SLES11.1
HANA: 1.00.70.x
Many thanks in advance,
Marco
Hi Marco,
If for testing purpose and you would like to restart specific services, you and do it via hdbstudio -> Landscape -> Services -> Right on the service you want to stop -> Stop
Hope it helps,

Hi Marco,
Found out a way to stop specific service only.
you just need to remove the hana services in daemon.ini.
eg below: i removed the preprocessor services and saved:
In administration tab, you'll see preprocessor service is stopped:
preprocessor is start once you reset the parameter. just you've backup global and local *.ini file before any changes.
Hope it helps.
Cheers,
Nicholas Chang
