when mount MDM server on MDM console...MDM Console hangs.

Hi,

when i try to mount MDM server on MDM console, MDM Console hangs and then i have to stop MDM console with task manager.

For this i have tried with restarting  MDM server - then also issue was not resolved, then i have rebooted the server, then issue resolved.

But rebooting the server is not permanent solution, this problem occurs everything next 3-4 days.

Please let me know the cause and it's solution if anyone has faced the similar issue.

SAP MDM 7.1SPS11

OS - Suse Linux

DB - MaxDB

MDM Console is also SPS11

Hi Rajesh,

sometime it happens that we start MDM server and we do not look to the database

same issue i had.

check that your maxdb is working

command-> db_state

check that eveything is fine in db

command-> info state

i had this issue, and can you please check logs of maxdb, if logs were full and take backup of logs and database and then try to run to up your database

command->  db_online

and then start MDM

Thanks Murtaza, for your reply.

We could identify the problem and got that fixed.

Issue was with related to saphostagent on that machine, which was creating zombie process, after each session was terminated. We upgraded that and after that issue didn;t pop-up again.

Hi Murtaza,

This may be due to the memory full issue. It is advisable to allocate appropriate memory in the RAM where server is running. Generally it will be done by the DB team or Linux/unix team. Raise this ticket to your concerned teams.
