Configuration of /BCV/SIDEPANEL is not of type SIDE_PANEL

When opening the BCV side panel in SAP PLM the user receives the following message: Configuration of /BCV/SIDEPANEL is not of type SIDE_PANEL.

The above described issue occur only for one user, for all the others is working alright. User believes the issue appeared after reseting the user settings for running applications.

How can this problem be solved?

The BCV issue is solved after running web dynpro abap application wd_analyze_config_user  then search the config /BCV/SIDEPANEL for the affected user, select the entry from the table and press delete.
