Outbound Port - Automatic - Hourly Not Working!!!

Hi,

We have 3 outbound ports which trigger automatically every hourly. and they are working fine.

Last week we created a new port with the same set of settings as above. and this 4rth port is not triggerring, i mean it is not generating files in ready folder.

we havent changed the Admin password

we tried to delete the port and remote system and created it again.

But all though there are records to syndicate, the port is not triggerring the syndication, and strangly all the other 3 ports with same settings but different maps (ofcourse) are triggering per hourly basis.

Note: Im able to login to Syndicater and open the port+map, and able to manually execute the syndication.

Experts, can you please suggest on what am i missing here.

Please help

Regards

Eva

Hi Eva,

It could be that MDIS is skipping the port.

Please look at the MDIS logs and check if it is working fine.

Thanks,
Ravi

Hi Ravi,

as this is a issue with Outbound Port, could be dealing with MDSS instead of MDIS!!!!

MDSS is working fine with other Outbound ports which are 'automatic'.

Hi Eva,

Yes you are right,I meant MDSS.

It might be working fine but this port is behaving different so it is worthwhile to do further analysis.

Please have a look at MDSS logs and look for errors/warnings.

Thanks,
Ravi

Hi,

I checked the MDSS Log, there are no entries for this Port at all.

Also i checked for Warnings and errors, but none were detected.

Does restarting the server help?

Hi Eva,

That can be tried but I don't think the issue lies there.

Can you please share the snap shot of port and logs.

Thanks,

Ravi

Hi Ravi,

attached is the Port configuration screen shot.

Which logs are you referring to, did you mean the syndication log which exists in the Log section at the botom of all repositories list?

Hi Eva,

You can find logs here - C:\usr\sap\MDM\MDSS02\log

Another thing to check is the write permission on the port by the system. You can take help of Basis for this.

When you manually syndicate file are you syndicating it to the Ready folder or local system?

If you are sending to local system the try syndication to Ready.

Please come back with findings.

Thanks,
Ravi

Hi Ravi,

I have checked the Logs (under the repository in console), no clu found.

I have checked the Reports Under the repository in console, no clu found.

I have created a new port with different name, still the same issue.

When i execute the port manually via syndicator im able to generate files to Ready folder and PI is picking them and they are successfully processed. No issues when executing manually.

But when port is automatic and hourly, it is not generating files and time in the port remains the same all the time.

Any suggestions?

Hi Eva,

So the same port does not work even when you set it as continuous?

Are you manually trying to syndicate by connecting to port?

Please check the same after taking a restart of the MDSS.

Also, please try to replicate this in other environments.

Thanks,
Ravi

yes, this port works when it is manual and does not trigger when it is set to automatic..when the same port with same map is configured in QA landscape it works fine with both manual and automatic setting.

strange thing is there are many other Outbound ports which are automatic and they all work fine, not sure why this port is not being active when it is set to automatic..

Hi Eva,

From Console change the trace setting for Syndication Server.

You should be able to see more details in DEBUG level.

Also, please check if you don't have any unwanted filters which are included in your map and going unnoticed.

Thanks,
Ravi

Eva,

I wonder if map is linked to its port under console for auto-trigger to execute.

Please check port under Admin node in console.
