Sychronizing PM and AA

Can anyone give me specific benefits of integrating Plant Maintenance and Asset Accounting? We are going live soon and I would like to explore the possibility of doing this (I am the asset accountant). Since I am not yet that familiar with SAP, I do not have much to pursuade others to consider this option. I would like to have actual benefits to speak about.

There are a series of fields common between the equipment and asset masters that can be synchronized.  i.e. Changes to the asset's cost center will automatically update the equipment's as well.  It's automated via workflow and you can enhance the solution to include fields other than the one's SAP delivers.  The solution works quite well.
