Suddenly in my central server all DIA WP status showing RUN mode. we tried to kill those work process in DPMON but not happening

i want to know below points

1) Why suddenly DIA WP went to RUN ststus.

2) If we configured load balancing also users facing system slow issue in 2nd server(they are able to connect to 2nd server but not able to work)

3)How to avoid this type of situation with out restarting the servers.

4)Is there any parameters i need to set to avoid this type of issues.

Please some one let me know the solution , if posible please provide some documents.

Thanks to every one, i am getting more support from SCN.

check sappfpar check pf=<instance profile> see if there are any errors.

if you found any errors related to ipc/shm_psize* adjust them.

Hi,

Check the work trace file  directory and database alert log file.

Need to check the hardware configuration in the production server and set the parameter file according to sap standards.

Check the work process trace files.

Use dpmon to see what is happening with the dialog work processes.

Update the kernel to the latest one.

Hi Easwer,

Login to OS level with <sid>adm and check the status of wp  under dpmon

Is there any semaphore locking problem ? Some time it might be happened that all the WP are waiting for semaphore  who is already locked by one of  the wp.

If possible please provide a screenshot of same in thread.

Hi Easwer,

Please check the following

1) SAP is able to connect to database using R3trans -d

2) ASCS services are up and running.

3) MSCS clusters services are up and running and there is no failover happened

Hope this helps.

Hi

How many DIA WP do you have on your server. If less based on your hardward increase it using rz10 parameters.

How many applicatino server do you have for app servers. You can usually kill those WP and then it should be alright.
