Hello,
I have a SAP instance in one server running with SQL Server 2012 (installed with SQL4SAP.bat and default instance). Now I want to install another SAP instance in the same server, How should I proceed?
If I run again SQL4sAP.bat will this replace the SQL server software (and database) installed before? Or I forced to use the same SQL Server software?
Regards,
JA
Hi JA,
If I run again SQL4sAP.bat will this replace the SQL server software (and database) installed before? Or I forced to use the same SQL Server software?
Select the named installation for this new setup. It should work. You may use existing SQL server software.
Hope this helps.

Hi J A
no worries about it, SQL4SAP.bat will detect existing instances and suggest (default) or allow you to enter instance name. go for it...
hope this helps

Hello,
You have the following options:
- If you want to use the same SQL Server Instance just start with SWPM and install the new SAP System (2 databases with 1 SQL Server instance).
- If you want to use a new SQL Server instance just start SQL4SAP.bat and chose a different SQL Server Instance name (each SQL Server Instance with only 1 database), then start SWPM and install the new SAP System.

I believe you should use MCOD option you can achieve it by running installation master and select MCOD when you have to define Database
