Change documents for masterdata - Impact on performance

Hi

In customization for masterdata in APO, for most of the masterdata we can Activate Change Documents. But it says "change logging using change documents can affect performance". Is there a way to measure/ judge this impact to take an informed decision to activate this change logging, and its impact on performance. I am sure lot of consultants might have faced this question from client. What should be the approach for this?

Hi Abhishek,

As such there is no tool to measure the performance if you activated change document log for product master. You can compare with the bath job time to CIF material to APO before and after activation change documents. It is not recommended to activate change documents if data volume is very high. Also you can schedule the job for program  RSCDOK99 to delete Change Document Object on regular  interval. That will help you to have major impect on performance.
