Hi Expertise,
Could you let me know the use of processing class in sap payroll.
with real time example.
I went through definition of processing class( It determines how wage type is going to process
during the payroll run).
I want to get to know through real time example.
Best Regards,
Priyaranjan
For easy understanding, am taking example of processing class 06 (Bring data from last pasyroll):
If processing class 06 is maintained for a wage type, it acts as per specifications
PRCL06 Specification -
0 - wage type will not be transferred from last PY period
1 - wage type amount is brought from last PY period to current period
2 - w.t will be taken from previous PY period, if it belongs to same year Ex: Annual Perk Exem.,
Hope this helps

Hi Priyaranjan,
Processing Class defines how a wage type will behave in the payroll driver. Each processing class has multiple specification (V_T52D2). we assign different specification to different wage type depending on how those wage types are to treated differently.
The two key things that a PCR do with the help of processing classes are
1) It cumulate the wage type into /1 series wage type.
2) It put the wage type into RT Table.
For more details check table V_512W_D, V_T52D1, V_T52D2.
Hope this will help you.
Thanks & Regards

Go to this view V_T52D1 in t-code SM30 and press " i " (information) tab you will get details on each PC.
To understand it more clearly check in payroll log by changing PC for some WT and check how the amounts are getting changed.First read from that view so you will have an idea.
regards,
Narendra
