Task XXXX cannot be executed in period 004 - error in currency translation task

Former Member

Hi all,

Out of nowhere, our currency translation task is erroring out with the text "Task XXXX cannot be executed in period 004".

Cons Frequency and Period category are assigned as monthly in the task, and the monthly setting in Period Category has all periods ticked for the year.

Any idea how/why this happened, and how to resolve?

Thanks!!

It would be much easier for the experts to help if you would please provide all of the details of the error message including the message number and all of the explanations.

It may also help to check and be sure the method is assigned to the task for the period in question.

Thanks, Dan

Thanks Dan.

Here is the exact error text.

Task D7000 cannot be executed in period 004

Message no. UCS0150

Diagnosis

No method with a period category containing period 004 is assigned to task D7000 in version 999/9999 for the time period 2014/004.

System Response

Task cannot be executed in period 004.

Procedure

If you still want to execute task D7000 in period 004, you need to use period categories that contain period 004 in the customizing settings of the task when you assign a method.

It looks like the method is not assigned for period 004/2014.

Please try going to the task in the BCS workbench (UCWB) with parameters set to 004/2014 and assign the method to the task and save.

Please update as to whether or not this resolves the issue.

The issue is resolved. Apparently there were new cons units added that were not added to the currency translation task with a method (our Assign Method is "Depends on Cons Unit". It caused errors at the top node.

Thanks all for the help!

Hi Jay

Please check the special version, assign to combination under UCWB-->Master data-->Versions-->special versions-->assign to combination-->Currency Translation folder --> Assign methods--> check whether the version is as per your expected version.

Interesting, the column for "Inherit." has a clipboard with an arrow for all tasks in the version with the issue. Other versions (plan) have the green box with an equals sign and the version number in "Special Version" column.

I will test in QA and report back. Thanks!
