Hello Everyone,

I am facing issue in Backup,

Server details: SEM PRD server, my database instance install in a A server and the central instance installed in another B server. 

We have scheduled the daily backup in B server  (Tcode DB13 to backup automaticly), but the backup is getting failed.

Info : While scheduling the backup through OS level (BRTOOLS) the backup is completing successfully.

Hi,

We had increased the page space on OS level in AIX server by the command smiity LVM, and now our system is working fine.

First read these SAP notes

980266 - RFC destination SAPXPG_DBDEST_<DB-HOST> does not work

34219 - DB13: CPIC error CM_RESOURCE_FAILURE_RETRY

446172 - SXPG_COMMAND_EXECUTE (program_start_error) in DB13

Setup a standalone gateway on the database server. Check the configuration suggested here.

I am facing exactly the same issue , can you please explain that did you restarted the SERVER Host or only the application.

We have take restart of both SERVER host and applicatopn, post that the issue was resolved.

Hi Sanjeev,

As you are in a distributed environment, you need to have gateway service installed on DB host.

Also maintain the RFC destination SAPXPG_DBDEST_<HOSTNAME> with relevant information on the gateway service.
