SAP BI BROADCASTER NOT WORKING

Dear All,

I tried accessing Broadcaster from SAP BEX Designer but nothing pop's up.

I assume that might be the issue with configuration of Broadcaster .

Please help me with steps of Broadcaster configuration.

I am Working on SAP BI 7.0 and planning to publish reports on user e-mail's via broadcaster.

Hi Akshay,

Follow the below point in your system using t-code SPRO to continue with broadcasting.

From a technical viewpoint, the BEx Broadcaster and broadcasting wizard represent the Broadcaster Web item embedded in an otherwise empty Web application. This Web application (0BROADCASTING_TEMPLATE) is entered as the Standard Web Template for Broadcasting in Customizing under SAP Reference IMG → SAP NetWeaver → SAP Business Information Warehouse → Reporting-relevant Settings → BEx Web → Set Standard Web Templates.

Nothing pops up when i click on Bex broadcaster in SAP query designer and same doesn't work in rsrt-->query broadcasting.

Will SCOT settings help to enable the same.

Or is it some different issue.

Hi Zeenath,

I recommend you to open a new thread, describing exactly your issue.

You mentioned that you upgrade from 3.5 to 7.4.

I SUSPECT that you don't have a BI Java Portal. In the past (Netweaver 3.x), bex broadcaster runs over ABAP WEBAS. Nowadays, this tool runs over BI Java Portal.

You cabn check the table RSPOR_T_PORTAL.

If this table is empty, that means you don't have a portal configured.

The issue was similar to what Akshay raised the question .Even i was thinking the same that  BI Java 7.30 was  missing in our installation , i just wanted to get confirmation that i was on right path .

Make sure a web template is defined in Customizing under SAP Netweaver -> Business Intelligence-> Settings for Information Broadcasting->Set Standard Web Templates.

Also make sure the web template set here is active and available. You may have to activate the template from Business Content

web template is defined when we work on Web application designer.

Here we are not using WAD we working on query designer .

Also i think if we use query broadcaster we don't require precal server .

Above article talks of precalculation.

can you try the same from RSRT2 T-Code--Enter the query technical name--Execute--Once the query output is displayed--Click on Information broadcasting--Create new setting--Provide the email id to which that report needs to be broadcasted--Save the setting--Give the technical name of that setting.

Execute or shchedule as per your requirement.

No still the same case as in rsrt....

are there any pre requirements to configure broadcaster....

Where you are getting stuck..are you able to run the query with tcode RSRT2 and after that can you see the information broadcasting tab.

Yes i am able to execute query,can see the output but when i click info broadcast tab the screen goes blank...

Following authorization objects are required.You can search for the same.

Are you able to create Broadcast settings from RSRT-->HTML Mode? If yes, there is no problem with your Broadcaster.

You may just need to uninstall BEx Gui once and intstall back with latest Patches and SP level.

Hi,

You can check ABAP + JAVA Stack is working fine. You can test this in RSRT-->ABAP Web or JAVA web. Contact BASIS on this to check from their end. I have found the below link which can help you.

java web when executed gives error.

abap web goes to server webpage  and shows request time out and cannot display page (Note; we dont have EP configured)

Ok Akshay! I can make now you have ABAP stack installed. Somehow it's not working. I suggest you to contact your BASIS on this ABAP Stack issue as well as IGS configuration.
