Activate Cost center in VL01N

Dear SD experts,

I want to activate the Cost center field in VL01N under the Goods Movement tab.

Pls advice.

Can you explain the Business process which warrants you to have such a requirement?  This may be achievable via standard configuration but I dont think, it is recommended to do so.

Hi,

The COGS was getting captured in the wrong Profit center of the wrong plant and with some investigation found that it was defaulted in OKB9. I had removed the defaulted cost center. Then at the time of posting in VL01N I got the error 'Account xx is not assigned to a cost center'. Hence I was looking for an option to enter the Cost center in VL01N to see if I could overcome this issue.

I have found the solution to my problem. I was able to default the Profit Centers with their corresponding cost centers in OKB9 itself. After posting, I found that COGS is getting posted correctly.
