How to Issue Material To Maintenance Department

Hello Expert,

      I want to know how to issue material to maintenance department in SAP B1.

      Tell me detail procedure. My client want process in SAP B1.

      He told me the material he want is available in store but store department not issue material becoz there is no doc to tell store department to issue material to maintenance department.

     Please give me solution as early as possible.

Hi Sandesh,

Try this below method which am doing for one of our client,

1. Create one Warehouse called Maintenance.
2. When ever maintenance department needs, material they have to request through "Inventory Transfer Request". Take a print and give to stores department
3. Using this Request , Stores department can transfer the stock to Maintenance department.
4. If it is consumed then , Maintenance department have to do "Goods Issue", Items like Oil , Grease etc..
5. If the items is going out the company for the Service , then create one warehouse called "Service" and do "Inventory transfer" to that warehouse.
6. If the material is come back, then do "Inventory Transfer" using Ctrl + Tab from Service warehouse to Maintenance warehouse.

Let me know if you need any clarification of the above points.

Hi,

Without issuing how maintenance will get the part?

1. Try  to receive your material or part directly to maintenance department without sending to store department.

2. Create maintenance warehouse and set it default for particular item(s)

Helllo Experts,

   Yes i agree to Inventory transfer from main warehouse to maintenance warehouse. And items are already available in main warehouse. But problem is that which doc should be added by maintenance dept to transfer material from main warehouse to maintenance warehouse.And Without any doc store dept not issuing material to maintenance dept...????

    Should maintenance department add   Inventory transfer Request in SAP or another way Can we put A/R invoice without unit price in SAP to issue material to store dept ??

Hi Sandy,

yes you are right use inventory transfer request to do the same.

First create Inventory transfer request from maintenance department then at the time of actual transfer call this request to inventory transfer form.

Hi Sandy

You can use Inventory transfer functionality.

create one warehouse as Maintenance warehouse.

then transfer your material from your main warehouse to maintenance warehouse.

when you receive transfer from maintenance warehouse to main warehouse.

For reporting use inventory posting list.
